It was a stone that I felt could not be passed up when we were sourcing stones due to its incredible cutting speed and fine grain and very smooth sharpening feeling across the stone.

A medium hard stone in the 6k to 8k range that easily brings up an almost black slurry after a few passes, with a smooth fluid feeling under the blade. During edge sharpening this smooth feeling was particularly nice with good ease of use for a harder stone.

Mainly tested on carbon steel white and blue as well as ginsan and stryx, with surprisingly good results on all of these steels. With a bit of mud built up from a 600 atoma texture in the surface of the stone the edge was toothy and crispy. When the slurry is worked more the edge becomes very fine retaining its aggressive feel.

I tested this stone for polishing as well on flat surfaces such as kiridashi, Kanna and single bevel knives sharpened with very flat bevels.
The finish with the slurry gives a nice Kasumi bringing out details in soft cladding as well as giving good contrast and a bit of a dark hazy polish to hard steel

A stone I felt that has great potential
