Strong cutting speed, polishing power, produces its own mud easily and has a fluid, smooth feeling under the blade across the stone. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eA medium hard, dense stone that quickly forms a dark grey mud easily with great tactile feeling and ease of use. I started the stone off with a surface texture from a 600 atoma but I found any finer or polished surface could work depending on the desired stage in polishing. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eOne technique I found worked best with this type of stone was to use very litter on the stone and bring up a mud with pressure in the soft iron, then instead of adding water to the stone when needed add a bit of water to the blade just to lightly wet it. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWorking well across all types of carbon steel and soft iron cladding as well as Honyaki, when pushed further the stone started to bring out grain and texture in hardened carbon steel, making the steel appear darker depending on the technique used. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eEqually it excelled in edge sharpening and sharpening of Japanese woodworking tools. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAn overall excellent stone suitable for fine polishing and edge sharpening.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Komon","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":49930202906866,"sku":"260801-OHIRASUITA1","price":80000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0651\/4956\/7218\/files\/260801-OHIRASUITA1.jpg?v=1786878603","url":"https:\/\/komonjapan.com\/products\/260801-ohirasuita1","provider":"Komon","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
