Very fast cutting speed that easily produced a black mud.

A fine stone that seemed to be in the 6k-8k range, leaving a whitish grey Kasumi with a hazy mirror finish on the steel. Tested on Hitachi white and blue steels both sanmai and Honyaki, as well as Tamahagane Honyaki and wrought iron cladding. Because of the very smooth cutting feeling across the stone clad steel was a breeze but Honyaki as well was very nice both in the soft and hard steel.

Edge sharpening on all the above steels was equally great, giving a good working edge but also capable of very fine polished bevels.

Started with a surface texture from a 600 atoma and little water keeping the stone s bit dry in places produced the best results for polishing,

Overall an excellent stone suitable for beginner to experienced sharpeners.
