The surface is fairly clean, no rust lines or anything that will affect performance. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis Ohira has great cutting speed, polishing power and is fairly easy to use. A medium stone that’s a bit on the harder, finer side. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBest used with little water for both polishing and edge sharpening.
