INTERPRETATION OF THE STONE

A medium hard + stone, that has excellent cutting speed with a fine finish, I found this stone to have a few very good qualities making it well rounded stone. For polishing it has exceptional cutting speed making it an easy transition from mid range synthetic stones.

For its finesse it can be a finishing stone but also a starting base for a natural stone progression from 2k - 3k synthetic followed by a softer finishing stone depending on the desired finish. On soft folded iron cladding such as Rentetsu, Watetsu and Wrought iron it really brought out some beautiful details and texture. When used primarily for edge sharpening, I was surprised at the level of sharpness, finesse with good grab and tooth.

Tested on Tanaka blue 1-2, white 1-2, single and double bevel, Ikeda and Genkai Honyaki, Best used with a mud from a very worn finer atoma plate or a surface texture from a 400 or 600 atoma.
