INTERPRETATION OF THE STONE

This Atago has a very smooth feeling across the entire stone. on the soft side but not muddy it handled wide bevel Gyuto and single bevel well.

A very easy stone to use with good feedback in the 3k-4k range. It produced a nice Kasumi finish in soft iron with very little effort. Can be used with little to normal amounts of water

Overall very easy stone perfect for those interested in a first natural stone to try or practice technique on.

(KOBU: "Kobu" refers to kombu, an edible kelp.)
